Touch-Screen Resource Booking System Offers Even More Integration with Exchange

17th November, Bristol, UK. Essential is pleased to announce the launch of another new version of ResourceXpress™, the flexible Microsoft Exchange-integrated meeting room, hot-desk and car-park on-screen booking system.
ResourceXpress is the ideal way for organisations to get better utilisation out of valuable office space and limited resources. Using low cost, industry standard touch screens that can be placed at reception areas or outside rooms, ResourceXpress gives staff and visitors instant visibility of resource availbility, with instant, on screen booking of free resources. It also helps solve the perennial problem of 'no shows'
Importantly, by way of tight integration with Exchange Calendar and Active Directory, ResourceXpress helps you make the most of your investment in existing systems and work practices, minimising support and training overheads.
New Features include:
New Authentication Option - As well as the options of on-screen username and password and RFID card readers linked to Active Directory, a third option of an on-screen Access (PIN) Code can now be selected. This is both simple to configure and simple to use with no additional hardware required and can of course link to Active Directory.
Access Restrictions - Using one of the authentication options each resource can now be configured to only accept on-screen actions i.e. Check-in, Check-out or Extend by the meeting or booking organiser, organiser plus attendees or any registered user. This is a very powerful feature to prevent unauthorised access to reservations.
On-Screen Attendees - Any desktop booking with meeting attendees will now display an on-screen icon allowing users to check who is attending the meeting.
Auto-Cancellation - Each individual resource can be given a threshold for automatic cancellation in the event of a no-show. E.g. Within 1 hour for a parking space, within 10 minutes for a meeting room.
Per Resource Option Buttons - Individual screens can now have any combination of buttons available to users e.g. 'Check-in'/'Check-out' but no ability to 'Book Now' or just 'Extend' to allow users to extend existing desktop bookings but not create local bookings. The permutations are now endless!
Per Resource Authentication - Each resource can now be enabled for authenticated access or open access.
Multi-Room Summary Screens Now Display Future Meetings - As an option the multi-panel or vertical list style summary screens can now display all future same day events as well as Now/Next events.
Server 2008 Compatibility - ResourceXpress is now fully tested and available for Microsoft Windows Server 2008®
Floor Plan Layout Builder - There have been several usability improvements to this standard option making it even simpler to maintain the dynamic interactive floor plan based screens.
